We are seeking a highly motivated, creative PhD-level scientist to our experienced drug discovery and development team evaluating novel therapies for cancer and inflammatory diseases. The scientist will have a background in chemical biology, proteomics and mass spectrometry. This candidate will report to the Director, Discovery Biology and work closely with team members in our research programs. The candidate will participate in the screening of drug candidates in biochemical and cellular assays as well as developing new tools for elucidating direct and indirect cellular target engagement.

PhD in Analytical Chemistry- or Biology-related field (chemical biology, proteomics, analytical biochemistry, mass spectrometry)

Hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation, ideally Thermo Q Exactive mass spectrometers, and able to operate and troubleshoot instruments

Good understanding of biochemical assay development

Familiar with experimental designs involving chemical probes and click chemistry for monitoring target potency and selectivity of drug candidates in cells

Experience with neoantigen and tumor associated antigen (TAA) discovery would be a plus

Role responsibilities
Operate and troubleshoot LC-MS Q Exactive mass spectrometers

Develop and execute biochemical assays and determine in-vitro potency and binding characteristics of drug candidates

Develop and execute direct and indirect target engagement assays using chemical biology and quantitative proteomics techniques (SILAC, TMT, Label-free, targeted mass spectrometry)

Setting up a platform for mass spectrometry-based neoantigen discovery

Excellent oral and written communication skills
